LIFE PowerLines4Birds: making power lines safer for birds

Descrição

Power lines are essential infrastructures for our daily lives, but they can pose a significant risk to many bird species, particularly through collisions and electrocution. However, when properly adapted, they can be integrated into the landscape as safer structures and may also provide perching and shelter opportunities for birds. The LIFE PowerLines4Birds project aims to make power lines safer by identifying high-risk sections, carrying out field monitoring, and implementing mitigation measures to reduce impacts on bird populations. This video presents the work carried out within the project, including field actions, data collection, and collaboration between different organisations to protect birds and promote more effective and sustainable solutions. The project is coordinated by LPN – Liga para a Proteção da Natureza, with partners @E-REDES, @SPEABirdLife, @QuercusTV and @seobirdlife, and @oICNF as an associated collaborator. The LIFE PowerLines4Birds project is co-funded by @LIFEprogrammeEU. 🎬 Production: LengaLenga Filmes More information: https://lifepowerlines4birds.lpn.pt/pt
